Method: build ingredients in a highball glass leaving the tonic and aperitif aside, then add ice. Stir mix to chill, then top with tonic water and dash of aperitif; garnish and serve.
The Free-Folk, derogatorily referred to as wildlings, are a people made up of many kinds…similiar to this flavor bomb of a highball.
Knight of the Flowers
1.25 oz Gin 1 oz Dry Vermouth .5 oz Italicus .5 oz Lemon .5 oz Honey Syrup Garnish: edible flower / sprig of rosemary
Method: combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice until chilled; strain into coupe glass, garnish, and serve.
Loras of House Tyrell, aka the Knight of the Flowers, did not accomplish much during the series other than being locked up for his love for other men, but he did defeat the great Jamie Lannister while jousting so why not dedicate a drink to him?
The Imp's Sangria
3 oz Sweet Vermouth .5 oz Cognac .5 oz Lime .5 oz Blackberry Syrup 3 oz Fever-Tree Citrus Tonic Garnish: seasonal fruit, rosemary sprig, lime wheel
Method: combine all ingredients in wine glass (or a vessel of similar size); add ice, seasonal fruit, and stir to chill. Once ingredients are chilled, garnish with rosemary and lime wheel.
Tyrion Lannister is a small man with a great love of wine who, one day upon retirement, wished to make his own wine and name it “The Imp’s Delight”. A sangria seemed fitting for the drunken dwarf.
The Red Wedding
1.25 oz Aquavit 1 oz Dry Vermouth .75 oz Gentian Amaro (I used Lo-Fi Aperitifs) 2 Dashes Grapefruit Bitters Garnish: expressed & discarded grapefruit peel, rosemary sprig
Method: combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice; stir until chilled and strain into rocks glass over large cube and garnish.
A tribute to one of the most gruesome massacres in the GOT series. This bitter, red-hued libation is made to represent all of the bloodshed that occurred during this tragic event.
Winter Is Coming
.5 oz Glenfiddich Fire + Cane .5 oz Cognac .25 oz Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur .5 oz Demerara Syrup 3 oz Cold Brew Coffee 1 Dash Aromatic Bitters Topped with whipped heavy cream Garnish: nutmeg, aromatic bitters, coffee beans
Method: combine all ingredients in a mixing glass and stir until chilled. Separately, add heavy cream to a shaker and shake until whipped; once the cream is ready, strain mix into coupe glass, top with whipped cream, and garnish to serve.
“Winter is coming” is arguably the most famous line in the GOT series. Cold weather means warming brown spirits and comforting flavors which you’ll find both of in this after dinner cocktail.
