BLUNTLY BITTER - A BLUNTLY, BITTER COCKTAIL

Bitter. A flavor that, as humans have continued to evolve, has become more and more like-able. Humans are genetically predisposed to not like bitter as we naturally associate the flavor with toxicity and poison (pretty interesting, right?). This is why kids, sometimes, don’t like to eat their vegetables because veges are one of the most common places we find the flavor, bitter!

I recently finished reading Brad Thomas Parsons' “Amaro”, which I will definitely be reading again, and my curiosity and respect for all amari and bitters has only increased. It is such a historically, and culturally, rich subject that I could read about forever which is one of my favorite things about this “spirit”.

That said, featured is a cocktail that is so in-your-face bitter that it’s not for the everyday drinker (you’ve been warned). BUT, if you like bitter, this cocktail is a true knockout.
